About us
Internet & Society Collaboratory (short: CoLab) is a platform for experts that enables a discourse about the effects of the internet on society and vice versa from a multi-stakeholder perspective. We seek to initiate a discussion that is not taking place yet. The emphasis lays here on interdisiplinary and practical methods. Our approach is to analyze controversial topics from various perspectives with relevant stakeholders and trying to find practical solutions for society and the internet community. read more
This occurs in the following ways:
- Initiatives (limited timeframe, ~30 experts, final report & recommendations)
- Ohus (Maori for working groups, consisten exchange of ideas, coordination of activities)
- Furthermore, our projects and events such as workshops, BarCamps and the Wiki-knowledge base offer the possibility of prolonged exchange.
It is our goal to analyze the societal utility of the digital transformation and to put forth alternative ways of framing the topics at hand, while precociously identifying and bringing to discussion the emerging challenges.
